Confirmation

New Paragraph

Confirmation

Confirmation is the third sacrament of initiation and serves to "confirm" a baptized person in their faith. Confirmation is a faithful affirmation of belief and the sealing of the covenant created in baptism.  The rite of confirmation can occur as early as age seven, but is commonly and most often received around the age of thirteen.  The rite of confirmation signifies the presence of the Holy Spirit, who is believed to provide strength to live a life of faith.

At Holy Trinity, preparation for children and teens to receive the sacrament of Confirmation begins around 9th grade.  Classes for Faith Formation occur within the curriculum at Holy Trinity through our Faith Formation Program for children attending public schools or parochial high schools.  For adults seeking their Confirmation, they attend our Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) classes to prepare for this sacrament.
